Tigers drop Gators 61-58!

Auburn dropped Florida in Tampa Friday night to improve their season record to 22-10 on the year. Tigers move into Semi-final action with the victory and will match up against Tennessee on Saturday @ 3:15 EST. (Played 2/7/09, AU 78 UT 77).

Vot Barber and Frankie Sullivan led the Auburn scoring with 12 each, followed closely by Lucas Hargrove and Tay Waller with 11 each. Not only leading in scoring for the Tigers, Vot Barber led the team with 10 rebounds.

The Tigers improve their hot streak winning 9 of their last 10, and certainly improve their post season resume. While the Tigers still sit uncomfortably on the NCAA tourney bubble, 2 more wins would give them an automatic NCAA bid. An impressive outing against UT will only help their chances of an at large bid, but the focus right now is on taking home the SEC Tournament hardware. While this team started off a bit sluggish, there is no other team in NCAA that is as hot as Jeff Lebo's Tigers.

In other SEC notes, LSU defeated Kentucky 67-58 while Mississippi State blew by South Carolina 82-68. LSU and Miss State will meet Saturday @ 1:00 EST.
